Job Summary
Senior Field Service Technician at ABB contributing to the Electrification Service Division in Indianapolis, IN. Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment (transformers, switchgear, busways, relays, power management controls, LV/MV breakers, PLCs). Involves outages with other field engineers/contractors, project management coordination, material quotations, and safety/compliance with ABB HSE and Safety policies. Requires hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment; frequent travel (~75%) and substantial hands-on electrical work. Travel-ready with valid passport and driver's license; strong MS Office skills; prior experience with OEM equipment (Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, etc.) and MV/LV systems is preferred; work authorization to operate in the US is required; 75% travel, potential for site-based and remote coordination, and a commitment to ABB's safety and inclusion policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preference for Electrical or Mechanical OR High School Diploma / GED with 4 additional years of related engineering / field / technical experience
- 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent such as military service
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license
- Candidates must already have a work authorization to work in the US
