Senior Field Service Engineer, Fleet

Job Summary

Diagnose and resolve complex technical failures in school buses and medium-duty trucks, serving as the primary escalation point for Field Service Representatives. Lead Product Lifecycle Management projects from root cause investigation through factory implementation, authoring advanced troubleshooting guidelines and specialized repair manuals. Mentor junior engineers, establish standardized troubleshooting frameworks, and collaborate with Technical Publications to drive updates for training programs and technical manuals. Maintain critical liaison between field operations and factory engineering to protect fleet uptime while influencing product reliability and design improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in automotive-related programs such as, but not limited to, Automotive Technology, Automotive Technology Management, Field Service Operations, Advanced Vehicle Systems, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Engineering Technology, Automotive Service Technology and Automotive Industry Management
  • 8+ years of automotive manufacturer (OEM) engineering level technical service support
  • 7+ years of experience in Root Cause Analysis processes & program
  • 10+ years school bus or 10+ years medium duty truck experience
  • Valid Commercial Class B Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe
  • Must work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold and noise
  • Must wear appropriate PPE when and where required
  • Frequent weeks working 40+ hours
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in automotive-related programs such as, but not limited to, Automotive Technology, Automotive Technology Management, Field Service Operations, Advanced Vehicle Systems, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Engineering Technology, Automotive Service Technology and Automotive Industry Management (preferred but not required)
  • Exposure to difficult or complex projects a plus
  • Continued Professional Development
