Job Summary
Conduct weekly sales order collection and client visits to assess needs, manage inventory, and drive upselling/cross-selling across grocery and restaurant accounts. Master product knowledge to provide tailored recommendations while cultivating strong relationships through planogram planning and order process advice. Support collections for timely payments, resolve customer inquiries, and analyze sales data to increase market share and wallet size. Identify new business opportunities, participate in field marketing activities, and assist clients in adopting new technologies. Provide management with reports on customer needs and competitive activities while collaborating on strategy implementation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of field sales experience in any of the following industries: food & beverage, hospitality, distribution, or FMCG/CPG (Indian or South Asian food is a plus).
- Bilingual in English and Hindi; additional South Asian languages a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
- Valid driver's license and clean record; willing to travel up to 75%.
- Capable of occasionally lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Significant field work, at least 75% travel.
- Monday to Friday, with required evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Office is based in Troy, Michigan. Employee can be based anywhere in the Midwest
- Responsibilities will require frequent travel between office and customer locations for site visits.
Desired Qualifications
- Indian or South Asian food is a plus.
- additional South Asian languages a plus.
- Previous Work Experience in South Asian (Indian) grocery or restaurant sales.
- Familiar with diverse markets; adept at working in fast-paced settings.
- Previous experience with desktop and/or tablet-based sales order management tools (e.g. Quickbooks, Sage, Netsuite, SAP, Odoo)
