Job Summary
Ensure plans and specifications are adhered to with quality control measures implemented and verify completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications. Interpret designs and drawings for crafts, review submittals, mock-ups, and shop drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve drawing interpretation problems and quality control issues. Prepare and disseminate documentation including status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material requirement calculations while creating and processing RFIs and field design change requisitions. Document weekly photos of quality control issues, conduct job walks, and participate in safety inspections to ensure OSHA compliance and identify hazards. Perform quantity takeoffs, analyze construction process problems, and conduct value engineering functions while maintaining accurate records of target versus actual productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Four years' experience in the construction management field of work
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as an entry level Project Engineer working on projects in the field
- Experience with large commercial projects
- Healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, science & technology project experience
- Ability to communicate well with multiple levels of personnel
- Ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously
- Ability to work well at project sites in the field environment
- Knowledge of plan reading
- Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Intermediate knowledge of Word
- Intermediate knowledge of Outlook
- Knowledge of AutoCAD product line
- Knowledge of scheduling software
- Knowledge of estimating software
- Knowledge of cost software
