Job Summary
Lead development, configuration, deployment, and commissioning of complex Delta Controls DDC systems for data center BMS and EPMS applications. Program advanced GCL+ control logic, configure enteliWEB environments, and integrate with PLCs, Ignition SCADA, and various industrial protocols. Perform troubleshooting of communications, data integrity, and hardware issues while validating system functionality through point-to-point testing and customer acceptance. Serve as the technical lead on assigned projects without direct people management responsibilities, providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Independently manage workstreams from design through turnover, coordinate with project teams and customers, and drive adherence to engineering standards. Requires 7+ years of hands-on DDC experience, 50–60% travel, and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on DDC programming or building automation experience with strong Delta Controls focus
- Expert knowledge of Delta Controls GCL+ programming, controller configuration, and enteliWEB deployment
- Extensive experience commissioning BAS, BMS, and EPMS systems in field environments
- Advanced knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, and network configuration
- Strong troubleshooting skills across DDC applications, networking, and system integrations
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects without direct supervisory responsibility
- Experience mentoring or coaching engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel 50–60%, including extended site assignments
- Valid driver's license; domestic and international travel as needed
- OSHA 10 certification within the past two years (training provided if needed within first week)
- Ability to travel frequently to job sites by car or plane, up to 60%
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and lifts as required
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
- Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment when required (hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots)
- Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
- Ability to visually identify and differentiate wires by assigned color
- Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
- Capability to safely operate hand and power tools
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Controls, or related technical field
- Delta Controls Fundamentals and Advanced Applications certification
- Experience with Ignition SCADA, Kepware, OPC UA, or historian integrations
- Experience in mission-critical data centers, hyperscale infrastructure, or high-availability environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for building automation and OT environments
- Experience developing engineering standards and programming best practices
- Familiarity with server setup, virtual machines, or OT network configurations
