Job Summary
Senior Field Application Scientist, Protein XI will serve as the scientific expert for customers using a new proteomic platform, delivering pre- and post-sales support, leading method development during initial rotation at MSD HQ, mentoring junior team members, and creating customer-facing materials (training workflows, best-practice guides). Responsibilities span conducting product demonstrations, troubleshooting complex assay challenges involving immunoassays and NGS, guiding experimental design and data interpretation, collaborating with bioinformatics/software teams, CRM documentation, and developing onboarding workflows; leadership in EAP, site selection, and VOC capture; delivering internal trainings, mentoring colleagues, and partnering with Marketing on accurate scientific materials. Requires travel ~50% and onsite work with potential for hybrid content development and cross-functional collaboration (Salesforce, R&D, Product Development).
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related field required.
- Master’s degree with equivalent experience considered
- A minimum of 3 years of in a field application scientist or scientific support position required.
- Hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including library prep, sequencing platforms, and basic data interpretation.
