Required Qualifications

• •5-10 years of hands-on experience installing, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining outside plant (OSP) fiber optic networks
• •Previous experience working in industrial, mining, oil sands, or heavy industrial environments
• •Demonstrated experience preparing fiber for fusion splicing and completing high-quality fiber optic terminations
• •Proficient in the use of fusion splicers and EXFO fiber optic testing equipment, including OTDRs, Power Meters, IOLM, and FastReporter software
• •Strong ability to read and interpret telecommunications drawings, splice diagrams, and technical documentation
• •Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
• •Full, valid, and current driver's license
• •Clean 5-year driver's abstract
• •Clear Criminal Background Check
• •Successful completion of a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test, with ongoing random testing as required by clients
• •Must be able to safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs
• •Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• •Must be able to safely perform work in industrial environments
• •Must be able to work in a variety of industrial, oil sands, and outside plant (OSP) environments, including both indoor and outdoor work locations
• •Must be able to work around active equipment, construction activities, and other potential workplace hazards while following all company and client safety procedures
• •Must be able to work flexible schedules based on project requirements
• •Must be able to perform physically demanding field work, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in awkward positions
• •Must be able to complete detailed fiber optic preparation, splicing, and testing tasks requiring strong hand dexterity and attention to detail
• •Must be able to work in changing weather conditions, uneven terrain, noise, dust, and other industrial site conditions
• •Must be able to maintain a professional working relationship with clients and project stakeholders
• •Must be able to adhere to all company and client safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
