Job Summary
Define and provide technical leadership for the long-term AI architecture and transformation strategy across Boston Scientific's Active Implantable Systems R&D. Build partnerships with internal engineering teams and external vendors to evaluate, customize, and deploy AI tools, copilots, and agentic workflows that improve engineering agility and product quality. Establish a secure, scalable AI ecosystem supporting regulated development processes, including interoperability with design history files and device master records. Drive organizational adoption through training, mentoring, and change leadership while communicating strategy and roadmaps to executive stakeholders. This Senior Fellow role operates with significant autonomy, partnering with senior leadership to shape the future of AI-enabled innovation within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, artificial intelligence or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in engineering, software, AI/ML, digital transformation or product development environments
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in senior technical leadership, principal architect, fellow or equivalent enterprise-level technical roles
- Demonstrated experience developing, deploying or customizing AI-enabled tools for engineering or product development workflows
- Deep understanding of generative AI, large language models (LLMs) and modern AI platform architectures, including agentic and retrieval-augmented approaches
- Experience integrating AI technologies into enterprise engineering environments and development ecosystems
- Proven success partnering with third-party AI technology vendors and evaluating emerging AI platforms
- Strong understanding of AI governance, responsible AI practices, data security and compliance considerations
- Experience working within a regulated environment, including an understanding of compliance considerations associated with deploying AI-enabled technologies
- On-site role based in Arden Hills, Minnesota, requiring employees to work on-site a minimum of four days per week

- Demonstrated leadership of enterprise-scale AI transformation initiatives across multiple engineering disciplines or functions
- Background applying AI technologies within medical device product development environments
