Job Summary
Lead the Greenville test labs' electrical infrastructure, spanning 15 kV feeds down to 120 V and DC control systems, including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, load banks, and specialized test equipment. Champion electrical safety practices such as LOTO procedures, NFPA 70E compliance, and arc flash mitigation strategies while leading facility design, commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting across MV/LV systems. Provide primary technical direction for facility-based projects by coordinating with internal teams, EPCs, and vendors to manage electrical equipment packages end-to-end, from RFQs and bid evaluations to FATs and commissioning. Perform advanced electrical studies using ETAP, SKM, or similar tools to ensure global standards compliance and guide junior engineers on technical procedures and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 10+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering
- At least 5 years in facility or industrial power systems
- Proven track record in electrical construction, inspection, and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning
- Hands-on experience with MV/LV systems including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC systems, generators, VFDs, and protection relays
- Advanced proficiency in electrical system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
- Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- 100% onsite at the Greenville, SC Technology Lab
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in electrical system design, FEED, and detailed engineering for large-scale facilities (oil & gas, petrochemical, hydrogen, refining, EPC)
- Demonstrated leadership in managing vendor packages, electrical buildings, and power distribution centers
- Strong grounding, cable sizing, breaker coordination, and electrical room layout expertise
- Experience with power generation facilities, transmission/distribution systems, and high-voltage equipment testing
- Working knowledge of global electrical codes and standards (NEC, CEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API, ABS, OSHA)
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with ability to convey complex technical information clearly
- Understanding of electric grid operations and electrical control systems
