Job Summary
Senior Facilities Technician responsible for leading maintenance teams, performing routine and emergency maintenance on production and lab equipment, and overseeing vendors during PMs, projects, and new rollouts. Drives scheduling to meet manufacturing timelines, updates drawings, and contributes to calibration and SOP development. Must diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems, interpret manuals/drawings, and ensure safety compliance. Supports continuous improvement, establish PM/calibration frequencies with Facilities and Engineering, and maintains clean, safe work environments. Requires strong electro-mechanical aptitude, familiarity with NFPA70E and safety protocols, and experience with CAD/SolidWorks, MS Project, and GMP/CAPA environments. Demonstrates leadership behaviors and collaborates across cross-functional teams to achieve results. Focus areas include project leadership, vendor oversight, and development of preventive maintenance programs for facility and manufacturing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in engineering preferred, or equivalent completion of a craft apprenticeship or multiple years of experience in a lab setting.
- Licensure of Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC/PLC, or extensive experience within life science/medical device industry preferred
- 5 years of advanced electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, system repair or related experience
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude; ability to evaluate and optimize system performance
- Experience with PM/Calibration development and SOPs; CAPA and GMP investigations familiarity
- Ability to read and follow P&IDs; CAD/SolidWorks familiarity
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to lead maintenance teams or vendors
