Senior Facilities Specialist (HVAC/R)

Job Summary
Conduct preventive, predictive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for plantwide refrigeration systems, utilities, and process equipment. Execute site rounds, equipment inspections, and routine cleaning to ensure efficient, compliant operations. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned processes while documenting all activities in the CMMS. Partner with process owners to improve equipment reliability and support shutdown planning and execution. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide installation, commissioning, and qualification of utility systems. Instruct junior technicians on specialized areas and acquire knowledge of new systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of experience
- Equivalent experience requirements for advanced degrees would be an Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 0+ years of experience
- Minimum four (4) years of experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical and/or control systems
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or control systems
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents
- GDP/cGMP Documentation and standards experience
- Experience in planning/organizing work, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan
- Experience demonstrating a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting based on data & facts
- Active participation in driven event response activities
- Document problems & work to ensuring rapid resolution & prevent recurrence
- Knowledgeable of Air Handling equipment
- Exhaust Fans
- Leak detection and repair
- Control wiring knowledge
- Ability to work with electronic batch records
- Automated process equipment
- BMS and FMS systems
- Knowledgeable of Compressed air
- Vacuum
- Chilled Water
- RO/ Pretreatment water systems
- Knowledgeable of Purified water systems
- Proficient in the operation and design production utility systems such as: purified water, process air, chemical storage, process waste systems, chilled water, hot water boiler, high pressure air, vacuum, air handling equipment
- Proficiency in Refrigeration and HVAC
- Experience working with 120v-480v electrical systems
- Troubleshooting electrical systems to include VFD's
- Ability to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks
- Ability to work rotating shifts, night shifts, extended shifts, &/or weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum four (4) years of experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical and/or control systems preferred
- Ability to lead & guide fellow technicians with daily tasks & activities preferred
- Experience with automated records systems such as CMMS preferred
- Experience demonstrating a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting based on data & facts preferred
- EPA 608 universal certification preferred
- HEPA filtration and air balancing experience preferred
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical systems to include VFD's preferred
