Job Summary
Senior Events Producer at The Washington Post Live and Events Group plans and executes high-profile live programs and summits, client activations, and intimate convenings across a wide range of stakeholders including C-suite executives and external clients. Responsibilities include concept development, budget management, venue selection, contract negotiation, vendor management (catering, A/V, security, travel logistics), day-of execution, and post-event activities; design and manage white-glove logistics for VIP guests; coordinate with editorial, technical, creative, and marketing teams to ensure alignment; maintain production calendars and documentation; ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations; develop contingency plans for high-stakes events; lead on-site management and vendor coordination; research industry trends and propose process improvements; manage The Washington Post Live Center and ensure event readiness; requires strong organizational, communication, and discretion under high-pressure conditions; on-site five days a week with compensation in the salary range provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in event management and/or as a personal assistant, including significant prior experience planning events specifically for C-suite executives or VIPs
- Demonstrated professional maturity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in fast-paced environments with tight timelines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Calm under pressure, nimble in decision-making, and unflappable when things shift on site
- Familiarity with tools like Asana, Google Workspace, SocialTables, or production scheduling platforms is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, communications, media production, journalism, event management, or a related field is preferred
