Job Summary
Advise clients across business groups on anti-corruption and compliance matters, providing tailored solutions and training while analyzing risk trends for senior leadership. Manage third-party due diligence, including screening, Red Flag Mitigation Plan preparation, and drafting compliance clauses. Lead Business Conduct Committee meetings, develop training curricula, and deliver direct sessions to employees and partners. Execute global risk assessments, coordinate sensitive investigations, and remediate employee dispositions. Partner with Legal, Audit, HR, and other functions to embed compliance into business processes. Requires 12+ years of experience, fluency in English and Chinese, and ability to travel 10%. Located in Shanghai.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer
- Minimum 12 years' work experience
- Proven leadership experience overseeing regional or multi-country compliance programs
- Experience leading a team of E&C professionals
- Ability to anticipate emerging risks and synthesize complex regulatory, market, and operational factors into clear strategic compliance insights for senior leadership
- Experience in leading or developing a team of compliance professionals
- Building organizational capability through training, talent development, succession planning, and operating model design
- Strong strategic thinking capability
- Meaningful experience in engaging with government agencies, industry groups and external counsel on E&C matters
- Good knowledge of Trade Compliance concepts, especially those relating to export control and sanctions
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to use GenAI tools to design and refine training/messaging materials which address complex E&C topics and realistic scenario-based learning needs, while ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards
- Fluent in English and Chinese
- Ability to travel up to 10% of time
