Job Summary
Senior Estimator role overseeing full-cost estimates for residential construction projects across Western Canada, with emphasis on purpose-built multi-family apartment developments. Responsibilities include analyzing plans/specifications, preparing estimates, conducting material take-offs, assessing estimating accuracy, compiling historical cost data for guidelines, evaluating probable costs of materials/labor/equipment, and coordinating with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to reflect changes in cost estimates. Requires 5-7 years of estimating experience, strong MS Office and estimating software skills, knowledge of construction practices and cost-control methods, and effective communication and collaboration. Degree/diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of direct estimating experience
- Strong computer background with MS Office and related estimating software
- Technical knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipment
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing
- Strong verbal and written communication and team collaboration skills
- College, Trade or Technical Degree/Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimate, Engineering or related field
