Job Summary
Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate bids and proposals for complex, high-value projects while mentoring junior estimators and managing small estimating teams. Partner with Sales and Operations to evaluate scope, schedule, and budget requirements, ensuring complete and consistent handoffs of awarded projects. Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate favorable pricing, and monitor market trends to adjust estimating models. Review junior work for accuracy, develop strategies aligned with profitability goals, and lead bid review meetings with leadership. Serve as a trusted partner to internal customers by providing value engineering options and clarifying scope during pre-bid and post-bid discussions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in construction
- Advanced ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
- Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Expertise in cost modeling
- Expertise in market pricing
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
