Job Summary
Senior Estimator responsible for creating estimates for commercial and light industrial projects using available designs, drawings, and information; developing multi-discipline takeoffs; reviewing plans and specifications; identifying risk; preparing bid instructions and bid forms; evaluating subcontract and supplier costs; performing productivity analyses and cost data comparisons; reviewing designs for cost effectiveness and recommending alternatives; coordinating with sub-trades and suppliers; handling inquiries; developing preliminary construction schedules; presenting estimates to stakeholders; liaising with Business Development to keep teams informed; and participating in handover meetings to Operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction and cost estimating
- Diploma/Certificate in construction is asset
- Quantity Surveying or accounting-related degree asset
- Understanding of construction site is asset
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Timberline, MS Project, Insite
