Job Summary
Senior Estimator at LF Driscoll (STO Building Group) in New York City, NY develops, creates and prepares construction cost estimates for healthcare-focused projects from early development through project execution, and supports the project team with updated cost information. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and drawings, performing quantity take-offs on corporate interiors and ground-up projects, identifying omitted items and ensuring proper accounting in the estimate, soliciting 3-5 subcontractor bids, reviewing bids for conformance to specifications, pricing, materials, wages and related items, coordinating with clients and vendors, performing change-order pricing and site visits, organizing a centralized cost-estimating database, analyzing completed projects to explain cost variances, and maintaining current information on construction code changes. The role requires calculating material and labor requirements, preparing itemized lists, and using estimating software to record and track estimates, with emphasis on accuracy, client satisfaction, and cost optimization.
Required Qualifications
- BS or BA required
- 7+ years of experience in Estimating, Construction Engineer/Project Engineer, or related duties in general contractor estimating and purchasing
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel) and well-developed budgeting, purchasing and organizational skills
