Job Summary
Review plans and architectural drawings to prepare quantity take-offs for projects in the early stages of development. Solicit 3-5 subcontractor bids totaling $100–$150 million annually, analyze them for conformance to specifications, and resolve pricing questions with vendors. Conduct site visits, perform change order pricing, and attend client meetings to ensure satisfaction. Organize a centralized cost estimating database, analyze completed projects for discrepancies, and develop standard cost data to reduce future errors. Maintain current information on construction codes and utilize appropriate software to calculate and track estimates.
Required Qualifications
- BS or BA
- 7 - 12 years of experience in Estimating, Preconstruction or related duties in general contractor estimating and purchasing
- Requires excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel)
- well-developed budgeting, purchasing and organizational skills
- Earns and maintains trust by demonstrating honesty, accountability and reliability

- Preferred areas of study include construction, management, engineering or architecture
