Job Summary
Develop competitive and compliant cost estimates for public and private heavy civil construction projects, including roadway, drainage, and site development. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, analyze subcontractor quotes, and prepare complete bids for submission. Identify constructability issues, enforce MBE/DBE/SBE compliance, and lead pre-bid and pre-construction meetings. Review job costs, manage change orders, and support project managers post-award. Requires 7+ years of heavy civil estimating experience, a valid Texas driver's license, and onsite availability in Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator
- At least 2 years of direct experience in heavy highway, paving, and concrete estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction math, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to interpret and estimate from complex plans and specifications
- Experience with public works contracts and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written English)
- Team‐oriented with strong attention to detail and accountability
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Must be based in the Houston area
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must be available for onsite work
- Must be available for M-F, 40 hrs/week schedule
