Job Summary
Partner with the operations team to plan jobs prior to initiation, covering general conditions, procurement schedules, and logistics. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and deploy it throughout the estimating process to prepare GMPs and manage associated funds. Review bid documents to assess risks, establish pre-construction budgets, and prepare comprehensive bid packages for distribution. Coordinate with the Self Perform Division for revenue opportunities, ensure best bids are obtained for trades, and structure a fair final sub-bid process. Present proposals effectively to clients while identifying marketplace escalation factors for materials and labor rates.
Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years' estimating experience
- Expertise Core & Shell, Base Building and Interiors Estimating
- Experience should include large commercial, hospitality, mid-rise/mix use projects
- Experienced in estimating all trades including Civil / Structural & MEP
- Experienced in Conceptual Estimating & Budgeting
- Self-Starter with the ability to work individually & as part of a team
- Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures
- Solid conceptual estimating experience
- Must have the ability to be deadline focused in order to time manage several activities / projects
- Good leadership, strong team communication both written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of On Screen Take Off, Timberline (Precision Estimating) experience is a plus
