Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator at Ruppert Landscape responsible for managing estimating workflow to provide complete proposals before bid deadlines, leading the estimating team, and partnering with the internal Operations Team. Responsibilities include fostering relationships with Landscape Architects, Vendors, Sub-contractors, and Clients; assisting customers with technical information and pricing during pre-construction; reviewing plans and specifications to determine scope and production methods; defining scopes of work for trades and distributing subcontract bid packages; negotiating final bid prices with subcontractors; soliciting quotes for hard materials and site furnishings; submitting plant lists to Purchaser for sourcing and pricing; updating estimating software databases; performing plan take-offs and entering bid data; calculating direct cost estimates and proposing profit margins; preparing Bid Summaries and developing value engineering options; and estimating change orders. Qualifications include extensive understanding of landscape installation or construction methods, 3-5 years of estimating experience, knowledge of plant material and horticultural practices, ability to read plans, strong relationship-building with subcontractors and customers, professional demeanor, excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and time management skills, and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software; plus a solid grasp of business math, accounting, and financial reporting.
