Job Summary
Prepare estimates and budget for low-rise and mid-rise residential projects in southern Ontario, including bid preparation, quantity take-offs, and site visits to confirm quantities. Coordinate subcontractor and supplier bids, solicit major subtrades, and award tenders in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with architects and internal teams to finalize cost estimates, analyze pricing, and implement cost-saving techniques. Maintain accurate databases for vendors and compile historical data for future reference. This role reports to the Vice President of Contracts, focusing on self-performed communities in the GTA. The team values accountability and collaboration, with a stable leadership structure featuring long-tenured members.
Required Qualifications
- Senior Estimator experience
- Estimating and budgeting initiatives experience
- Relationship management with subtrades, material suppliers, external consultants, and internal design, development, and construction teams
- Lead estimator capability for residential housing developments in the GTA
- Bid or budget preparation experience
- Design/build estimating experience
- Hard-bid estimating experience
