Job Summary
Conduct complete conceptual estimates for large, complex EPC projects from bid receipt through final review, including site visits, scope determination, and material takeoffs. Manage bid timelines to ensure accurate, timely preparation while leading teams on large-scale solar renewable energy projects. Organize detailed estimates for field turnover and mentor Estimator I and II staff. Utilize advanced knowledge of construction estimating, contract types, and risk management to develop winning proposal strategies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma plus related training or education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7 years of construction estimating experience
- Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
- Knowledge of various contract types including EPC, DB and JV
- Experience in contract negotiations
- Experience in working with a variety of vendors and clients
- Experience in leading bids on a regular basis
- Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company's Zero Injury principles
- Read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents
- Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Use effective verbal and written communication skills
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers rapidly and accurately
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
- Knowledge of various contract types including Engineer, Procure, and Construct, Design Build, and Joint Venture
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
