Job Summary
Senior Estimator Level 1 – Stations responsible for preparing material, labor, and cost estimates across design stages, analyzing documents and blueprints to identify cost drivers, conducting detailed takeoffs, maintaining pricing accuracy, and communicating risk assessments and recommendations to senior management. The role involves supervising entry-level estimators, developing early-stage cost forecasts, and ensuring estimates reflect current market conditions. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, extensive experience in estimation and budgeting, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with estimating tools and project-management practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience
- Minimum of six (6) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certified Professional Estimator - ASPE; or Associate Estimating Professional Certification desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement
- Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of construction costs and budgets is required to assist in developing a project schedule
- Knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and equipment
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Proficient computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle-based, or other estimating tools)
