Job Summary
Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector works projects ranging from $50 to $100 million. Analyze and compile estimate data regarding labor, materials, equipment, and location while reviewing drawings, specifications, and site conditions to ensure high-quality bids. Utilize existing cost history and advanced analytical processes to validate calculations, then present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management. Communicate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings and develop relationships to increase regional bid opportunities. Supervise estimating staff and lead design-build preconstruction services and means and methods discussions to drive innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience
- 10+ years estimating experience
- Prior management experience
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software
- Advanced knowledge of Estimating software
- Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Advanced knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives
- Ability and willingness to abide by Granite's Code of Conduct
- Ability to travel to other regions in the country for IP/JV bidding opportunities which require air travel and overnight stays
