Job Summary
Coordinate estimating efforts for a team of estimators by managing higher complexity bids, reviewing plans and specifications to determine project scope, and conducting site reviews before bidding. Provide final quality control over team submissions, calculate material quantities, solicit subcontractor quotes, and construct bid proposals using HCSS software. Delegate incoming duties, mentor junior staff, and advance estimating operations while managing client relationships and business development opportunities. Work alongside Senior Project Managers to streamline functions and support project management after job award. Travel occasionally to jobsites and client meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from four-year college or university
- minimum of 10 years' experience bidding and estimating projects
- equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Construction Bidding and Project Management software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to work with all levels of management, employees, external vendors, and other business associates
- Must clearly communicate directions and information
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, clients, and/or regulatory agencies
- Ability to define problems, collect and document data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of situations and events and respond accordingly
- Ability to seek counsel, when needed and use a variety of resources
- Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Valid Driver's License
- ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of HCSS software
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Working knowledge of DeepEx / DeepFnd or similar preliminary design software
