Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary
Interpret project drawings and specifications to produce accurate quantity takeoffs, while developing construction schedules and methodologies. Collaborate with Estimating and Operations teams to deliver competitive bids, applying knowledge of heavy civil contract models and reviewing terms with precision. Demonstrate expertise in earthworks and concrete work, often in remote locations, while adapting quickly to changing project environments and requirements. Manage time and priorities efficiently to meet tight deadlines, working independently or within a team setting. This role offers hands-on experience estimating major heavy civil projects across BC under the guidance of the Estimating Manager within our Business Development department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction
- Proficiency with construction estimating software
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Project
- Skilled in change management and adaptable under pressure
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Field experience, technical diploma, or engineering degree
- Registration with ASTTBC or EGBC
