Job Summary
Senior Estimator leads preconstruction and estimating for healthcare, institutional, and commercial construction projects. The role requires an 8+ year track record in estimating or preconstruction with a commercial general contractor, including direct experience estimating hospitals, medical facilities, healthcare renovations, or occupied healthcare projects. You will own estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission and turnover to operations, ensure estimate accuracy and complete trade coverage, solicit subcontractor pricing, identify risks and constructability issues, and develop value-engineering options and bid strategies. Responsibilities include leading conceptual to final bid estimates, performing quantity takeoffs across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP scopes, participating in client meetings and site visits, and delivering detailed turnover to project managers and operations. Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff platforms, and Microsoft Excel, plus strong communication and organizational skills, are required. Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a commercial general contractor
- Direct experience estimating hospitals, medical facilities, healthcare renovations, or occupied healthcare projects
- Proven ability to independently manage an estimate from conceptual budgeting through final proposal
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, trade coverage, general conditions, and construction costs
- Ability to identify design gaps, project risks, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities
- Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff platforms, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, and deadline-management skills
