Job Summary
Lead the Estimating Department by developing relationships with General Contractors, Architects, and Owners to secure work, while reviewing team estimates for accuracy and assigning project responsibilities. Manage preconstruction processes by coordinating with the Director of Preconstruction and President to summarize final estimates, highlight profit risks, and prepare conceptual budgets based on minimal information. Develop and maintain a quality control program, analyze alternate means for economic alternatives, and track hit rates to drive improved results. Coordinate insurance and technical proposal requirements, maintain data on material cost trends, and actively participate in industry relations and job kick-off meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Minimum 7 years of estimating/project management experience in the construction field
- Ability to lead a team in a collaborative manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in problem-solving/analysis
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize, and implement alternate solutions to challenges
- Strong sense of urgency
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
- Internet savvy with competence in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong MS Excel proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to meet the needs of the role
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the millwork industry is preferred
