Job Summary
Lead the Estimating Department by developing relationships with General Contractors, Architects, and Owners to secure work, while reviewing team estimates for accuracy and assigning project responsibilities. Manage the full bidding process by analyzing contract documents, identifying margin improvement strategies, and coordinating with the Director of Preconstruction and President to finalize proposals. Establish and maintain a quality control program, track hit rates for team performance, and continuously improve processes for efficient output. Collaborate with Marketing and the Risk Manager on technical and insurance requirements, while actively participating in industry relations and project kick-off meetings to enhance company image.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Minimum 7 years of estimating/project management experience in the construction field
- Ability to lead a team in a collaborative manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in problem-solving/analysis
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize, and implement alternate solutions to challenges
- Strong sense of urgency
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
- Internet savvy with competence in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong MS Excel proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to meet the needs of the role
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in the millwork industry is preferred
