Job Summary
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents. Incorporate historical data from purchase orders and productivity reports into unit and person-hour figures. Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs and material quantities from engineering drawings. Provide technical input on project and contract risks to the lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval. Monitor client addenda and advise the team on changes during the estimate period. Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors to achieve pursuit and cost goals. Partner with the estimating team to conduct project hand-off meetings between the pursuit and project management teams. This role supports building stronger, more resilient communities through cost-effective construction methods aligned with schedule and price objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- 5+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control
Desired Qualifications
- Specialized knowledge and experience in alternative construction delivery methods
- Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
- Strong technical writing skills
- Able to lead pursuit and estimating activities on a large or complex pursuit project
