Senior Estimator (Electrical Substations)

Job Summary
Review contract documents, perform material take-offs, and obtain vendor quotes to develop detailed electrical substation estimates. Lead bid reviews, peer-check regional proposals, and mentor associate estimators throughout the estimating life cycle. Submit RFIs by deadline, manage award documents, and relay project insights to the PM team during pre-construction meetings. This role requires ten years of cost estimating experience in the electrical industry, including five years on GMP estimates and design-build projects. The position is based in Pennsylvania with travel to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Required Qualifications
- five (5) or more years of related experience in electrical construction industry
- Ten or more years performing cost estimating for the electrical industry
- Five or more years' Experience on GMP estimates
- Design build estimating experience
- Ability to travel as required throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast
- Knowledge of general construction practices
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code and NFPA 70E
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Primavera 6 and MS Project
- Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with occasional travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate)
Desired Qualifications
- An acceptable combination of education and/or work experience within the Electric Utility industry (Electric Utility preferred)
- Knowledge of substation construction practices with familiarity of large substation projects highly preferred
