Job Summary
DPR Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator responsible for leading the estimating process on negotiated commercial construction projects, particularly in healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, and life sciences. Candidates must demonstrate a history of managing detailed estimates, collaborating with project teams, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders. Essential skills include cost evaluation, proactive problem-solving, detailed conceptual cost studies, and effective bid processing. The role requires familiarity with construction contracts and value engineering sessions, alongside a strong commitment to customer advocacy.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of commercial construction experience
- Experience preparing detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility-level documentation
- Knowledge and understanding of unit costs and the factors that affect construction cost
- Experience with the bidding process including soliciting bids and evaluating subcontractor proposals
- Ability to lead and facilitate value engineering sessions with the project team and design team
- Familiarity with reviewing construction contracts and identifying key insurance and damages clauses
- Experience being a member of the team involved in request for proposal responses (RFP’s)
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (WinEst, Timberline or similar), take-off software (On-Screen Takeoff or similar), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar)
- Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis
- Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues
- Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines

- Bachelor's degree is a plus but not required
