Senior Estimator – Data Center Building Automation

Job Summary
Senior Controls Estimator for data center building automation projects. Lead estimation lifecycle from RFP review through proposal packaging for projects ranging from $25M to $150M, focusing on automation, SCADA, power monitoring, and electrical infrastructure in mission-critical environments. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business development; develop cost models; identify value engineering opportunities; manage bid processes; solicit subcontractor pricing; track KPIs with Power BI; mentor junior estimators; and interface with clients, vendors, and subs. Will require travel to site visits (up to 20-50%) and ability to work in a fully remote environment as part of a remote-capable team.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience estimating large-scale building automation, industrial controls, or electrical infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of DDC - Distech, Honeywell; PLC - Rockwell, Schneider, ControlLogix; SCADA - Tridium, Niagara, Ignition, etc.
- Experience estimating large complex projects ($10–$150MM) in mission-critical environments
- Experience with estimating software – Accubid Anywhere, Live Count, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, Procore, Power BI, Excel
- Familiarity with code requirements and electrical engineering fundamentals (e.g., voltage drop, conduit fill, derating)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to clients
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, partners, and internal teams
- Strong negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors
- Ability to travel up to 20-50% for site visits
- Previous experience in Data Center / Mission Critical industry
