Job Summary
Senior Estimator with 10+ years in heavy civil construction, specializing in roads, highways, bridges, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and risk; leading tender submissions; ensuring compliance with bid deadlines; coordinating pre-bid strategy meetings; presenting project scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities; mentoring junior estimators; and supporting ongoing estimating processes and tools. Role requires interpretation of tender drawings and contract documents, and experience with Design-Build and large infrastructure bids. Location: Toronto, in-office; full-time position with salary in the 130k–165k range (CAD) based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in civil/heavy civil construction (roads, highways, bridges, infrastructure)
- 5+ years of estimating experience in construction
- Experience with Design-Build and large infrastructure projects
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and contract documents
- Proficiency with estimating software (InEight Estimate preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Knowledge of OPSS and CDED standards
- Experience with MTO and/or municipal projects
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Valid driver’s license
