Job Summary

Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for heavy civil projects under various delivery methods. Lead or perform portions of multi-discipline estimates, including accurate quantity surveys and soliciting subcontractor quotes. Supervise and train other estimators while managing risk and contract responsibilities on bids. Review total estimates for accuracy prior to quotation and monitor comparisons between estimated and actual costs. Research continuous improvement in estimating methods and assist in developing strategies to achieve minority participation requirements. This role requires 7+ years of heavy civil experience, a relevant undergraduate degree, and proficiency with Takeoff, Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and AGTek software. Base salary ranges from $110,000 to $160,000. Located in the US, this full-time position offers comprehensive benefits including health, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of engineering, estimating, construction management, general management, or field engineering experience in the heavy civil field
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree
  • HCSS Estimating software experience
  • Software: Takeoff, Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, AGTek
  • Must be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills
  • Must be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • High degree of initiative, independence, personal responsibility, and integrity
  • Willingness to speak up, listen up, ask open-ended questions, and learn from others
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

  • The ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds on occasion
