Job Summary
Lead cost estimate development for government civil, industrial, and infrastructure projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and RFQs to determine scope and technical requirements. Utilize InEight software to manage estimates, create cost databases, generate bid proposals, and perform detailed quantity take-offs, material pricing, and subcontractor evaluations. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify risk factors, value engineering opportunities, and project efficiencies while ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations. Prepare cost summaries and reports for executive review and client submission, maintaining accurate historical cost records and estimating standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, preferably with federal or public sector projects
- Strong proficiency with InEight (Cost, Estimate, and Project Controls modules)
- Proven track record of successful bids in government contracting environments
- In-depth understanding of FAR/DFARS, prevailing wage, and contract compliance requirements
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with project managers, procurement, and clients
