Job Summary
Senior Equipment Technical Specialist responsible for creating, testing, updating technical documents, literature, and training videos to support field technicians in maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of JB Hunt equipment. Acts as a subject matter expert in tractor and trailer maintenance, may mentor junior staff, and engage in specialty projects. Responsibilities include mentoring/training, coordinating with vendors for advanced troubleshooting, supporting a call-center style help flow, developing diagnostic training content (e.g., Insite Computer), reviewing and updating repair instructions to streamline training, creating training campaigns and classes, maintaining and updating technical literature, and maintaining advanced knowledge in repair technologies. Travel up to 20% and work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends. Education: GED or High School required; position not eligible for employment-based sponsorship; nationwide relocation possibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in electronic engine, transmission or reefer repairs
- Willingness to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
- Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) effectively
- Ability to document information and make quick decisions
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience in truck/automotive industry
- Fluent in diagnostic software
