Job Summary

Support Project Management for multi-year permitting, design, and construction projects by performing quality assurance reviews for Environmental Impact Statements and Assessments. Investigate potential regulatory violations, conduct site inspections for air, noise, wetlands, and hazardous materials, and assist project staff with technical discipline guidance. Manage task schedules, track deliverables, and prepare permit documents while applying MTA quality assurance guidelines. Coordinate with GIS support, ensure crew safety plans and equipment calibration, and assist with staffing and resource allocation. May work evenings, weekends, and travel to external sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Environmental Science/Environmental Technology/Environmental Management /Archaeology / Anthropology /Biology /Wildlife or an equivalent subject
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years in a management or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization
  • Proficiency in current industry software and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the capital design and construction process
  • Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Must have focus and the ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
  • Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information
  • Must be able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines
  • An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee culture are necessary
  • Must be able to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
  • Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters preferred
  • CEP-IT certification is desirable
  • Various Disciplines may be (but are not limited to): Historic Preservation and Cultural; Environmental Resources, Asbestos, Lead, and Hazardous Materials
