Job Summary
Conduct wetland and waterway delineations, prepare environmental documentation under NEPA requirements, and develop mitigation plans for infrastructure projects. Perform field data collection for natural resource surveys, compile soil and water samples, and utilize GPS and GIS software to create project-specific maps. Analyze survey data to assess impacts on the natural and human environment, then develop technical reports and permit applications. Coordinate with government agencies to identify affected resources and assist in public participation outreach. Review work products for accuracy and respond to regulatory agency comments. Maintain positive client relationships to resolve project scope questions and support business development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or other related field
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in consulting or regulatory environment, in the environmental science field
- Ability to work well and self-motivate in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in variable conditions, including uneven ground and access to remote sites
- Ability to obtain certification in FHWA/INDOT NEPA
- Strong team player with effective internal & external communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Close vision for computer and document review
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ARC GIS preferred
