Job Summary
Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental projects from investigation through remediation and regulatory closure in Carlsbad, NM. Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and deliverables; directing multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff; preparing NMOCD submittals and state/federal documents; coordinating with NMOCD, state, and federal entities throughout the project lifecycle; building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development; providing senior-level data analysis and technical recommendations; and promoting a strong health & safety culture across projects. Requires a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master’s preferred) and 6+ years in environmental consulting/remediation with at least 3 years in PM. Proficiency with NMOCD, SLO, BLM regulations; experience with NMOCD oil & gas remediation and site closure; knowledge of soil/groundwater corrective action and risk-based closure; strong leadership and communication skills. Must live in/near Carlsbad, NM and be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship). Compensation includes $110,000–$130,000 annually plus comprehensive benefits and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 6+ years of environmental consulting and remediation experience, with at least 3 years in project management
- Expertise with NMOCD, SLO, BLM regulations and guidelines
- Experience managing projects with the NMOCD on oil & gas remediation and site closure
- Knowledge of soil/groundwater corrective action and risk-based closure strategies
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Texas Railroad Commission and University Lands experience a plus
