Job Summary
Lead, manage, or play a key role in Environmental Assessments, impact assessments, permitting, and approvals for public- and private-sector clients. Bring together planning, engineering, environmental science, and engagement perspectives to help clients make clear, defensible decisions while managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk. Build trusted client relationships by understanding client objectives and contributing to communications, proposals, and business development activities. For senior candidates, identify strategic opportunities, strengthen key accounts, and shape discipline growth. Question established approaches to propose better solutions and develop new methods, tools, or technology-enabled approaches that improve efficiency and the client experience. Contribute to complex projects shaping infrastructure and environmental outcomes across multiple sectors. Collaborate generously across disciplines and offices, mentoring less tenured staff and continuing your own development through professional associations and internal learning opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree or post-graduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field
- Relevant professional experience, typically 5+ years for an intermediate role or 10+ years for a senior role, preferably in consulting or a comparable client, government or industry environment
- Experience delivering Environmental Assessments, impact assessments, planning studies, permitting and approvals, or related environmental assignments as a project manager, environmental lead or key project team member, at a level appropriate to your experience
- A strong working knowledge of the legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, permitting processes and approval requirements relevant to your areas of practice
- Experience designing or delivering stakeholder, public and Indigenous Community engagement programs, including virtual or technology-enabled engagement approaches
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with business development, client development and responses to RFPs is expected for senior candidates and considered an asset for intermediate candidates
- Experience with environmental management during construction, including environmental management plans, monitoring and documentation—is considered an asset
