Senior Environmental Health & Safety Manager-Canada

Job Summary
Partner with leaders across Canada to ensure baseline EHS programs are effective and communicate best management practices. Directly support the interpretation, translation, and implementation of EHS policies at sites, while leading incident investigations and validating root causes. Provide compliance assurance through internal and external audits, manage agency inspection responses for WSIB, WCB, and CNSST, and ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local regulations including AODA. Lead EHS training for designated staff, standardize site EHS committees, and drive zero waste to landfill, energy, and water conservation initiatives. Translate corporate requirements into site-specific targets and goals, conduct monthly data integrity reviews, and liaise with government agencies on regulatory issues. Report directly to the VP, Global EH&S in a hybrid model with 30% travel, requiring a CSP or CRSP certification and 5+ years in industrial safety.
Required Qualifications
- Must have excellent knowledge of federal, provincial, and local environmental and occupational health legislation and regulations as it relates to industrial safety
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Processional (CRSP) strongly preferred
- Flexibility to respond to emergencies and the ability to travel 30% of the time
- Thorough understanding of federal, provincial, and local environmental and occupational health and safety legislation and regulations as it relates to industrial safety
- Demonstrated experience in employee coaching
- Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in all provincial areas is required
- Excellent leadership and training skills
- Strong time management, planning, organizing and prioritization skills
- Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- A can-do, positive attitude
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- Can lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that meet local and national regulations (preferably in a global diversified company)
