Senior Environmental Health and Safety Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the organization. Develop occupational health and safety programs, manage key systems including Lockout/Tagout and Permit-to-Work, and facilitate risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses. Conduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis methodologies to drive corrective actions. Monitor compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements while designing and delivering training for employees and contractors. Provide technical EHS guidance, coach team members, and partner with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental goals and sustainable business success. Identify and escalate significant risks and resource needs.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, EHS management systems, audits, and continuous improvement activities
- Working knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), emergency preparedness and response, and contractor safety management
- Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively across functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including advanced English proficiency
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational safety, environmental sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental management programs
- Experience with hazardous materials and chemical management programs
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish
- Experience leading teams, mentoring professionals, and driving organizational change through collaboration and influence
