Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Generalist

Job Summary
Partner with line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations while adhering to P&W procedures. Administer the EH&S Council by interfacing with subcommittees, updating performance trends, and tracking projects to completion. Provide technical direction to line management and serve as program manager for Health and Safety programs including Contractor Safety Management and Emergency Response. Respond to onsite medical incidents and act as a spill responder on a rotating schedule. Conduct specialized audits and inspections to monitor performance and develop corrective action plans. Analyze trends for injuries and spills to drive improvements and integrate EH&S programs into business operations. Participate in pollution prevention initiatives and assist with investigations and unsafe condition corrections. Provide EH&S training and work comfortably on the manufacturing floor.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 8 years EH&S regulatory compliance experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field
- minimum 5 years experience
- EH&S regulatory and management systems knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment
- EH&S experience developing and implementing industry leading Safety and Health Program
- Mentoring and training experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or related industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Forming, facilitating, and maintaining internal and cross functional teams and relationships
- Continuous Improvement experience e.g., CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN etc.
- Capable of working with a wide range of people from the site leader to shop floor and of providing team leadership when required to meet highly aggressive goals
- Additional certifications, such as CSP, CIH.P.E. or CHMM
