Job Summary
Senior Environment Artist responsible for creating high-quality real-time game environments and assets. Collaborate with Art Director and cross-functional teams to ensure artistic consistency and technical performance. Create environment assets optimized for real-time engines, implement and iterate using PBR workflows, manage topology and UVs, and contribute to pipelines and production processes. Requires a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency with Maya/Blender/3ds Max/ZBrush/Substance Painter, experience with Unreal Engine or Unity, and the ability to adapt to various game genres and target platforms. Mentorship of junior and mid-level artists and active participation in reviews and asset quality improvement. Based in Australia with hybrid work options in Adelaide, Brisbane, or Melbourne; other Australian cities may be considered for remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a 3D Artist in the video game industry
- Strong portfolio of real-time game assets
- Proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter
- Strong understanding of modelling, sculpting, UV mapping, texturing, lighting, composition, anatomy, form, colour theory, and material creation
- Experience creating optimized assets for Unreal Engine or Unity
- Strong understanding of PBR workflows, topology, performance optimization across multiple platforms
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and incorporate feedback
- Knowledge of game development pipelines and adapting artistic styles to genres and platforms
