Senior Environment and Sustainability Advisor

Job Summary
Partner with operational teams to provide environmental and sustainability advice across projects, maintenance contracts, and sites in the Central and Northern North Island. Lead environmental assurance activities, audits, and ISO 14001 management system requirements while managing approvals, permits, and resource consents. Develop environmental management plans, support incident investigations, and contribute expertise to bids and tenders. Deliver training programs and build relationships with clients and regulators to drive compliance and continuous improvement. Requires tertiary qualification in environmental discipline, five years' experience, and a full NZ driver's license. Based in Auckland with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, Planning, Sustainability or a related discipline
- At least five years' experience in a similar environmental role
- A strong understanding of New Zealand environmental legislation and regulatory processes
- Experience obtaining and managing environmental approvals, permits and resource consents
- Experience developing environmental management plans and compliance documentation
- Environmental auditing or assurance experience
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship management skills
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- All successful applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment drug test, medical and a Ministry of Justice check prior to starting employment
