Job Summary
Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer responsible for managing and optimizing the enterprise BIS/MFT/EDI platform (Seeburger BIS) to ensure high availability, secure data exchange with trading partners, and reliable integrations. The role includes onboarding trading partners via AS2/SFTP/FTPS/HTTP(S), configuring certificates, developing and maintaining configurations and automation (JavaScript, BeanShell, PowerShell), implementing security controls (SSL/TLS, encryption) and regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR), building monitoring dashboards, drafting runbooks/SOPs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while mentoring junior engineers. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience and 2+ years of MFT/EDI experience are required, with proficiency in scripting languages, SQL, networking, and security fundamentals, plus familiarity with X12/EDIFACT, and APIs (REST/SOAP). Location-based requirement is Toronto, Ontario, Canada (on-site).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field (or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience)
- 2+ years of proven experience managing file transfer (MFT) platforms or B2B/EDI integration solutions
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python), SQL; solid knowledge of networking and security fundamentals (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, firewalls)
- Fluency in industry standards (X12, EDIFACT) and protocols (AS2, SFTP)
- Ability to design, map messages, automate workflows, implement data validation
- Experience with Seeburger BIS, MFT, EDI, API Gateway
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Experience with security frameworks and regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Experience with monitoring, dashboards, performance tuning, and incident response
- Collaboration across cross-functional teams; mentoring junior team members
- Nice-to-have: Python, JavaScript, PowerShell scripting; AWS/Azure; REST/SOAP APIs
- Certifications or expertise in security frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR, CISSP, CompTIA Security+)
