Job Summary
Senior Engineering Technician II responsible for ensuring ASM tool reliability in demanding semiconductor environments by applying advanced system-level knowledge to troubleshoot hardware and process integration issues, link tool performance to yield, and implement durable corrective actions. Collaborates with Process Engineers and Field Service Engineers to optimize equipment parameters, supports high-volume production, and mentors junior technicians while maintaining safety and clear communication with customers. Role encompasses on-site support across multiple tool sets, root-cause analysis, data-driven troubleshooting of gas delivery and thermal-control systems, and proactive identification of performance trends to meet customer production goals.
Required Qualifications
- Technical school diploma (2-year program) or BS with 1–3 years of experience or 7+ years of relevant technical experience
- Proven experience with complex semiconductor or similar process equipment
- Ability to install, maintain, repair, and provide on-site customer support across multiple tool types
- Strong knowledge of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and safe work practices in high-risk environments
- Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis and contribute to cross-functional escalations
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Willingness to obtain ASM GTC Level 3 certification
