Job Summary
Engage with project teams to define survey requirements, develop practical solutions, and prepare scopes of work and quotations for geospatial services. Provide technical advice on methodologies and support tender activities across engineering surveying, utility mapping, laser scanning, UAV surveys, and tunnelling. Liaise with operational teams to ensure accurate scoping and identify opportunities for innovative technologies and improved workflows. This role offers exposure to all aspects of project development from initial enquiry through to delivery, providing a platform for future progression within Murphy. The position is based in Hemel Hempstead or London.
Required Qualifications
- HND, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within the surveying, geomatics or geospatial industry
- Broad knowledge of geospatial surveying technologies, methodologies and deliverables, including Engineering Surveying, Site Control, Topographical Surveying, Utility Mapping (PAS128), Laser Scanning, Monitoring, UAV Surveying, Machine Control, Bathymetric Surveying, GIS and Tunnelling
- Ability to assess project requirements and contribute to the development of practical, safe and commercially effective survey solutions
- Experience preparing or supporting the preparation of scopes of work, estimates, quotations or technical proposals
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with project teams and clients
- Commercial awareness and an interest in developing consultancy and business development skills
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Chartered status (MRICS, MCInstCES or equivalent) or working towards professional chartership
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Digital Engineering and BIM workflows
- Experience within rail, energy, water, transportation or heavy civil engineering sectors
- Experience supporting tendering, estimating or business development activities
